BELL — CEM Construction Company, the lowest of six bidders at $199,050, will perform the city’s curb and sidewalk ramp upgrade project this spring.
The City Council approved a contract with CEM in February for work that will be completed this month, City Engineer Terry Rodrique said.
Funding will come from the city’s federal Community Development Block Grant, Rodrique said.
Those funds may be used for loans or grants to low- to middle-income homeowners to improve their properties or for public works projects in low- to middle-income areas.
Total cost of the work, with engineering, construction management and contingencies is estimated at $283,055, Rodrique said.
