Heather Parnock has been hired as hired as the director of community relations at Compton College. In the position, Parnock will be responsible for coordinating, directing, marketing and governing activities as they relate to community relations for the college.
Parnock will help to enhance the brand of Compton College as well as develop partnerships and events that encourage community support. Prior to serving the Compton College community, Parnock served as the publications supervisor at El Camino College for 10 years.
Robert Pearman of the Sanders Roberts LLP counsel has been appointed to the San Diego County Assessment Appeals Board. The board appoints members with experience in real estate, property appraisal, accounting, law and related fields.
In 2012, Pearman was selected as the “2012 Top Rated Lawyer” in corporate real estate and transportation law by legal profession information services company Martindale-Hubbel.
Laphonza Butler, president of the Service Employees’ International Union Local 2015, has been appointed to the University of California Board of Regents by California Gov. Jerry Brown. As a UC Regent, Butler will work to improve the racial, economical and gender inequality among the University of California workforce. Butler has experience in budgeting, political strategy, government and nonprofit organizations.
