The Los Angeles Lakers and Laker Youth Foundation joined Wingstop in hosting a groundbreaking ceremony Sept. 8 for an outdoor basketball court renovation benefitting the Challengers Boys and Girls Club.
Following the ceremony, more than 300 attendees were treated to a festival which featured an indoor basketball clinic conducted by Laker point guard D’Angelo Russell and Laker coaches, meet-and-greet opportunities with the Laker Girls, entertainment provided by KJLH and free lunch courtesy of Wingstop.
The basketball court, which will encourage daily active outdoor play, will serve as a secure destination for children from the local community, officials said.
