The Los Angeles Chapter of the Southern University Alumni has elected Keith Mott as president.
Mott is a member of the Southern University class of 1996, when he earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology.
Other new officers are Douglas Robinson, vice president; Keisha Martin, recording secretary; Jevaillier Jefferson, corresponding secretary and public relations coordinator; Keita Shivers, financial secretary; and Camille Mayo, treasurer.
They will be introduced to the Los Angeles chapter Nov. 1 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the President’s Recption, to be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Valdry .

Sherri Brewer, senior vice president and chief retail officer for OneUnited Bank; was the keynote speaker at the second annual Southern California Diversity in Leadership Conference, Oct. 2 at Cal State Long Beach.
Brewer shared her story with her speech, entitled, “Be Bigger than Your Block.”
Brewer has 30 years of experience in the banking industry. She obtained a bachelor of arts degree in economics from Occidental College in Eagle Rock.
