Gregory C. Scott, president and CEO of New Directions for Veterans, Inc., was elected to the Holman Community Development Corporation board of directors. The corporation’s mission is to provide resources for the development of human potential, spiritual, social and economic growth, thereby expanding employment, housing and educational opportunities for those in the community.
Scott is an alumnus of the African American Board Leadership Institute, an organization that aims to strengthen nonprofit, public and private organizations through recruiting, preparing and placing African Americans on a broad range of governing boards.
Paula Madison, the CEO of Madison Media Management,was among 12 women who received an honor for advancing opportunities for women in politics.
The National Women’s Political Caucus recognized the honorees at a gala on Oct. 24.
Other award-winners included Ana Guerrero, chief of staff to Mayor Eric Garcetti, county Supervisor Sheila Kuehl and Dr. Kristie Holmes, national board member of the United Nation’s Women’s Committee.
