Noel Massie, the president of United Parcel Service’s Southern California District, will receive the Vice Admiral Samuel L. Gravely Leadership Award on Feb. 18, at the Battleship Iowa Museum.
The annual award recognizes African-American leaders in the Southern California area who exemplify the service of the late U.S. Navy vice admiral. Gravely was the first African-American to command a warship, achieve flag rank and eventually vice admiral.
At UPS, Massie is responsible for every aspect of the district’s operation, including sales and customer relationships.
Karen Driscoll, a senior associate at the Raben Group, has been elected to the Californians for Justice (CFJ) board.
CFJ is a statewide grassroots organization working toward racial justice by advancing opportunities for youth, communities of color, immigrants, low-income families and LGBTQ communities.
The Raben Group is a public policy firm that solves problems for clients in the corporate, government, nonprofit and foundation sectors.
