Sheri Dunn Berry, director of programs at Community Partners, has been appointed to the advisory council for the Master of Arts in Nonprofit Management program at Antioch University Los Angeles.
The program prepares students for careers in nonprofit management and leadership at all types of 501(c) organizations, including human services, religious, educational, community development, health care, arts and culture, environmental, and foundation work.
Berry has an educational background in public affairs and public administration. She also has extensive experience working in urban environments and the nonprofit sector. Berry is a graduate of class number two of the African American Board Leadership Institute.
Marcia S. Reed, principal of 186th Street Elementary School in Gardena, has been selected as California’s 2016 National Distinguished Principal. The award celebrates elementary and middle school principals who set high standards for instruction, student achievement, character and climate for their learning communities.
Reed has an extensive background in educational leadership and has served as principal of 186th Street Elementary School since 2004. Under her leadership the school became a 2016 California Gold Ribbon Award School and a 2016 Title I Academic Achievement Award School.
