Neferteri Plessy has received the community service award from the Shepherd’s Door Domestic Violence Center. Plessy, a model, television personality, and television producer is the founder of Single Mom Planet, which is an organization geared toward empowering single mothers to live a life in which they love. Single mothers are enriched through their Single Mom’s Life Classes, certifying participants in five key life empowerment areas: self image, relationships, finances, spirituality and service.
Trella Walker, executive liaison to the Debbie Allen Dance Academy, has been appointed to the Robey Theatre Company board of directors.
Robey has a mission to explore, develop and produce provocative plays written about the global black experience by offering a theatrical environment that reflects life as seen through the eyes of black characters on stage struggling to survive, advance, and simply maintain.
Walker was a graduate of class number nine of the African American Board Leadership Institute. This marks AABLI’s 100th board placement.
