The Inner City Education Foundation has elected Brandon Roberson to serve on its board.
The charter school management organization operates 12 schools educating more than 4,000 students in kindergarten through high school.
Roberson studied music and education at UC Irvine and Loyola Marymount University, respectively. Prior to becoming an academic affairs director for College Track, he was a teacher for KIPP LA schools.
D’Artagnan Scorza, executive director and founder of the Social Justice Learning Institute, is now the member-elect for Seat 5 on the Inglewood school board.
Scorza, a former personnel specialist for the U.S. Navy, received a doctoral degree in education from UCLA in 2013. He has conducted research in various areas including urban education systems, critical literacy, curriculum and instruction.
