William Franklin, interim vice president for enrollment management and student affairs at Cal State Dominguez Hills, received the university’s Wang Family Excellence Award.
The award recognizes faculty and staff members who have distinguished themselves through ground-breaking achievements in their academic disciplines and who have a significant impact on students.
Franklin arrived at Cal State Dominguez Hills in 2007 as director of the Equal Opportunity Program and the federal TRIO program. His success as director paved the way for an appointment as associate vice president of student success services in 2009.
In that role, he led divisional planning and policy formulation and collaborated with the broader campus community and local communities on issues related to educational equity, access, student learning, assessment, retention and graduation, a university spokesperson said.
