CHEERS: Woman nominated for sorority award

Kandee R. Lewis has been nominated for the Woman of the Year Award by Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Alpha Psi Zeta Chapter of Los Angeles.

Lewis, executive director for the Positive Results Corporation, is an advocate against domestic and sexual abuse and human and sex trafficking.

The sorority often recognizes women who reflect the characteristics of scholarship, religious activity, and community service.

The Institute of Museum and Library Services has named the Los Angeles Public Library as a finalist for the National Medal Award, the nation’s highest honor given to either a library or museum.

The library is one of 30 finalists that were chosen because of their innovative approach to public service and contributions to their communities.

The National Sales Network of Los Angeles will present Clifton Johnson with its Professional Legacy Award.

Johnson is a board member for the Watts/Willowbrook Boys and Girls Club, the Magjc Johnson Foundation and the Torrance-South Bay YMCA.

In 2013, he retired as vice president and senior account relationship manager from the Private Bank at Union Bank in Beverly Hills.
