City Council may regulate e-cigarettes

CULVER CITY — The City Council here will consider amending a city ordinance regarding regulations for tobacco retailers that also will apply to electronic smoking devices.

The council meets July 27 at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 9770 Culver Blvd.

If approved by the council, businesses wishing to sale electronic smoking devices or electronic smoking products will need to obtain a tobacco retailer’s license from the city.

Persons wishing to comment on the proposed amendment but who cannot attend the July 27 meeting, may provide written comments to the city clerk’s office by 4 p.m. July 27.

The ordinance will be introduced at the July 27.

A second reading of the amendment must be approved at a subsequent meeting before it becomes law.
