The EmBrase Foundation holds its fourth annual five-kilometer fun run-walk fundraiser from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Plaza de la Raza in Lincoln Park, 3540 N. Mission Road, Lincoln Heights.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and the race starts at 9:30. A festival is held following the race.
The EmBrase Foundation was started by Jose Estrada and his wife, Yvette Olivares-Estrada, in honor of their late son, Jose “JoJo” Estrada, who was killed in a car accident in 2014.
It is an arts-based organization that provides funds for Eastside youth to pursue their dreams in the arts.

Play festival: Casa 0101 Theater, 2102 E. First St., Boyle Heights, is presenting “Brown & Out IV,” a festival of 10 short plays celebrating the LGBT and Latin experience Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 5 p.m. This year’s festival tackles themes of friendship, family, gender identity, HIV, suicide, religion and old school vs. millennial differences.
