Downey approves plans for new Starbucks

DOWNEY — The Planning Commission has approved plans for the construction of a new Starbucks with an outdoor dining area and a drive-through lane at 7954 Imperial Highway.

City Planner William E. Davis said a vacant restaurant building, formerly Bakers Square, would be demolished and a 1,850 square foot facility would be built for Starbucks facility in a four acre shopping center on the south side of Imperial, west of Paramount Boulevard.

It is in the same center as Vallarta Supermarket, 7902 Imperial Highway, which has obtained approval for the sale of alcoholic beverages for off-site consumption, Davis said.
