DOWNEY — The Police Department has purchased a Fume Alert Security System, which will be made available for use by residents, a police spokesperson said.
The system will be available for use by Downey residents when their homes are to be tented for fumigation.
Occasionally the fumigation tents attract burglars because homes are left unattended for a number of days.
The Fume Alert System is a portable alarm system that will be installed in the home and removed once tenting is completed.
If there is an intruder, the alarm will notify the Police Department and officers will respond, the spokesperson said.
To make reservations for the system contact Det. Price at (562) 904-2359 or email at email@example.com.
