Eco Station to observe Earth Day

CULVER CITY — STAR Eco Station, 10101 Jefferson Blvd., will hold its 16th annual Earth Day celebration from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 17.

The free celebration will feature exotic wildlife, student performances, eco-friendly games and rides, face painting, tons of food and celebrity guests from Disney, ABC and Nickelodeon.

Last year, more than 30,000 people attended the event.

This year’s event will feature the exclusive trailer screening of Disney’s new film “The Jungle Book,” along with a green screen photo booth for interactive Disney fun.

Among the celebrities expected to attend are Forrest Wheeler of ABC’s “Fresh Off The Boat,” Brenna D’Amico and Jedidiah Goodacre of Disney’s “The Descendants,” Jenna Ortega and Kayla Maisonet of Disney’s “Stuck In The Middle,” Jade Pettyjohn of Nickelodeon’s “School of Rock,” Ella Anderson of Nickelodeon’s “Henry Danger” and Jaheem Toombs of Nickelodeon’s “100 Things to Do Before High School.”

Tours of the STAR Eco Station exotic wildlife rescue center will be available at a discounted rate. STAR Eco Station is a nonprofit environmental science museum and exotic wildlife rescue center that provides environmental education, field trips, classroom instruction, after-school enrichment, school assemblies, mobile museums and community events that annually reach one million learners of all ages.

Through a partnership with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, STAR Eco Station rescues and houses “at-risk” and endangered exotic wildlife.
