Megan Hayes gazed at Trent Ward as he ate breakfast on a Monday morning at Le Pain Ouotidien in Studio City. Two seconds later, Megan chortled as she spilled water on her shirt.
She couldn’t stop laughing at Ward revealing the logline to their comedy show that features a combination of live sketches and comedic videos about politics, bugs, dopey hipsters and bikini martinis.
The show will run on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 and 10 p.m. from July 24 to Aug. 15 at Working Stage Theatre, 1516 N. Gardner St., Hollywood. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at www.megatrent.com
The dating scene, gay marriage, the politics of how a certain movie always wins an Oscar, terrorism, a spoof on the superhero genre and a “Game of Thrones” spoof are just a few of the topics that Hayes and Ward will tackle in their comedy show.
The duo met through a mutual friend and it wasn’t long the pair discovered they had the same taste in comedy.
This is their first collaboration on a comedy special. Hayes and Ward hope Clam Bake Weenie Roast will be the launch of future seasonal shows. A Halloween show is in discussions.
Be on the lookout for my upcoming feature on the duo in the coming weeks.
