Feb. 12, 1909

Educator W.E.B. DuBois is one of 60-plus activists who formed the NAACP to fight for racial equality for black Americans. As editor of the group’s Crisis magazine, he would criticize and agitate white America while serving as a source of information and pride to black Americans.
