Los Angeles, Ca

The Catholic Cemeteries of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles are inviting the public to the Día de los Muertos Vigil at the Main Mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery in East LA (4201 Whittier Blvd. 90023), November 1, 2014.

Dia de los Muertos or All Souls Day celebrations are a rich and vibrant Catholic tradition of our Church, when the life of the deceased is honored and celebrated through songs and prayer.

The free festivities begin at 3 p.m. with the decoration of altars by members of local organizations and families, children’s activities, folkloric dances and much more.

A Mass will be celebrated at 5 p.m., followed by a candlelight procession through the cemetery.  The evening will close with a special Día de los Muertos Mariachi concert.
