Crenshaw High School left-handed pitcher Keymon Thomas has given a verbal commitment to the UC Riverside baseball program, it was announced Tuesday.

He’ll be joining a Doug Smith-coached program that went 32-23 and finished third in the rugged Big West Conference a year ago.

Thomas was 4-1 with four complete games and a 1.96 ERA last season for Crenshaw. He struck out 45 and walked 11 in 35.2 innings. He also batted .439 with 13 RBIs.

The year before, Thomas was 5-0 with a 1.45 ERA and 27 strikeouts and 12 walks in 29 innings.

This year, the Cougars should again be one of the main contenders for the Coliseum League title.

If we could get all of your boys to form one team we would have a monster. Nick and Cory Akins, Dominique Starks, Ron Miller Jr., Jamal Moore, and Keymon Thomas. Thanks to all of y'all and I really appreciate the support and love.
